High alpine trad ascent of Pyramid Peak, off the Juneau Icefield (Alaska). Sept. 2015.

I became part of the Mountain Trip family back in 2016 after wandering into an office to buy a winter tent. As they say, the rest is history, and I’ve been with the company for over four years. I’m humbled to be part of a tight-knit team that consistently uplifts and inspires one another–not to mention provides great alpine experiences to guests around the world.

Born and raised in Montana, I’ve been fascinated by high peaks for as long as I can remember. My best memories of childhood involve chasing my parents up hiking trails and down ski slopes as soon as I could walk. Since then, my passion has deepened, and has led me around the world, from the Rockies, the Cascades, the Japanese Alps and New Zealand; to the Pyrenees, French Alps, the Nepal Himalaya, the High Atlas of Morocco and the Alaska Range. Though I enjoy all alpine pursuits, the pinnacle of happiness for me involves backcountry skiing down a steep, pristine couloir or summit face after a long ascent. I also do a lot of trail running, and am usually training for an ultra or two during the summer, filling in the gaps with guiding and rock climbing. And while I’m passionate about traveling and exploring the world’s great ranges, there’s nothing quite like home in the San Juans!

I guide Via Ferrata, trail running, backcountry skiing, hiking and backpacking for Mountain Trip around Telluride, and you can also often find me at our office downtown working on trip logistics, marketing, social media and client outreach. I have also been an apprentice/assistant guide on two trips into the Alaska Range, including one summit of Denali via the West Buttress.

In whatever capacity, I love sharing the joy of moving in the mountains with others.

I hold an AAIRE Level 2 Avalanche Certification, a Wilderness First Responder, and have taken my AMGA Alpine Skills. In the upcoming year, I hope to gain an AMGA SPI and take my aspirant Ski Guide course in the coming year.

Happy climbing, see you out there!
