A new expedition dispatch from our Mount Vinson team in Antarctica as they flew to Vinson Base Camp today. After waiting for the weather to improve at the Union Glacier base in Antarctica for the last couple of days, the Mount Vinson team finally flew to the Vinson Base Camp today! They were enjoying the luxuries and food at the Union Glacier base, but were certainly ready to get moving and start climbing the mountain. They are enjoying a beautiful evening at the Vinson Base Camp, setting up tents, and moving into the big dome tent we use for a social/dining tent there. They don’t plan to spend much time at base camp, and hope to move right on up to Camp 1 tomorrow. Everyone is doing great and is in great spirits, glad to be on the move again.
Here’s the call from Vinson Base Camp!
